* The Cleveland International Film Festival will run from March 22nd through April 1st. Attend any screening, write a review, and I’ll award you up to 15 points! This is a fantastic opportunity we have every year — please take advantage of it.
* Attend any of the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Writers Center Stage events and complete a short assignment to verify your attendance. (15 pts.) Special note for 2011/12: the poet BILLY COLLINS will participate on NOVEMBER 8th this year! Very exciting!
*Attend any of the Cleveland Public Library’s Writers and Readers Speaker Series events for up to 15 bonus points.
* Voluntarily participation in the ESU National Shakespeare Competition can earn you 25 bonus points (more bonus points than I have ever offered for a single project!). If you are interested in memorizing a monologue from a Shakespeare play and reciting it onstage in front of judges, see me BY (2011/12 date coming soon) so I can get you started. The actual competition is in mid-December. For more information, please visit the English Speaking Union’s website.
* See Mr. Bogigian ASAP if you are interested in going to the Renaissance Faire on Saturday, (2011/12 date coming soon). The trip is limited to 35 students, so get your paperwork in NOW before it fills up. Let me know if you plan to attend, and I will give you an assignment to verify your participation. (10 pts.) P.S.
